Jakob Steinmetz

Jakob Steinmetz is a Professional Services Manager within Align’s Data Center Infrastructure Solutions group, where he brings a decade of experience in data center strategy and critical facilities expertise to the advisory practice. His primary focus is to enhance Align’s service catalog and existing offerings by applying his extensive knowledge in data center assessments, market research, site selection, and portfolio consolidation strategies.

Prior to joining Align, Jakob was a global data center advisor and industry expert at Accenture where he provided guidance on current and future market trends, advised clients on optimal data center solutions and proposed consolidation strategies to modernize their portfolios. Jakob also led countless facility infrastructure assessments, utilizing a dedicated evaluation tool to identify vulnerabilities and recommend remediation strategies.

Before Accenture, Jakob spent seven years as a consultant within the Mission Critical practice at CS Technology. During his tenure, he led project teams in client data center site selection and analysis and was instrumental in assembling global assessment teams to advise clients on the strategic direction of their data center portfolios. Through critical facilities analysis and expert guidance Jakob was able to assist clients with capacity planning, demand management and data center consolidation strategies.

Jakob holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Lafayette College, where he also competed as a four-year collegiate rower. Outside of his professional endeavors, he maintains a passion for exercise and nutrition through participation in endurance and strength events. He also enjoys data analytics and can often be found building Excel models to analyze trends.
