A global investment management firm with over 4000 employees required workplace technology support to keep pace with growth across its London offices.
Align partnered with the firm to deploy and configure workstations, ensuring employees had fully functional desks ready for use while minimizing disruption to daily operations.
The Challenge
The firm’s growth created a constant need to deploy new workstations as teams expanded. Every new employee required a fully functional setup on day one, which made timely workstation deployments critical to maintaining productivity.
Meanwhile, the client’s internal IT team was already responsible for supporting thousands of employees and managing day-to-day technology operations. Handling large-scale installations on top of these responsibilities risked slowing onboarding and diverting resources away from core IT support.
Execution conditions added another layer of complexity. Much of the work needed to be completed after hours on active office floors where employees were still working late into the evening. In addition, installations often depended on other contractors completing furniture or electrical work first.
The Solution
Align handled the full setup of workstations, including unboxing, installing desktops and monitors, running and organizing cabling, connecting peripherals, verifying network connectivity, and disposing of packaging. Every workstation was fully tested before handover to ensure employees could begin working immediately.
To minimize disruption to the workday, installations were scheduled around business hours and equipment was prepared in advance to reduce time spent on the floor. Desks that could not be completed due to limited access or unfinished construction were tracked and revisited later to finalize the setup.
The Results
Align’s support allowed the client to scale its workplace technology environment quickly while maintaining uninterrupted operations for existing teams.
Hundreds of workstations were deployed across multiple projects, including:
- 160 desktops installed in 8 days
- 171 desktops installed in 7 days
- 140 desks cabled and 280 monitors replaced in 2 days
By offloading large-scale deployments to Align, the client’s internal IT team was able to stay focused on supporting employees and managing ongoing operations.
Most importantly, new employees consistently arrived to fully functional workstations. The firm continues to expand and engage Align for workplace technology projects.
