Here we aim to highlight our partnership with Device42, a leading data center discovery tool, that helped the Align team enhance the critical infrastructure discovery and application dependency mapping of the program.
The Customer
A regional bank that manages hundreds of users across dozens of branches was running on legacy data centers, utilizing disparate technology suppliers and had a lack of IT transparency and documentation.
The Challenge
During the discovery phase of our transformation program we realized the client lacked sufficient documentation around their systems and infrastructure. Align needed to take a deep dive into their entire IT estate and discover all relevant applications and dependencies, as well as determine if those resources were cloud ready.
The Solution
Align's partnership with Device42 provided full transparency into the bank's application environment from many different perspectives. This enabled Align's Migration team to discover an additional 40 unknown applications that had to be mapped and migrated alongside the 58 applications originally forecasted by the in-house IT staff.
