We want to inform you about an issue with a recent CrowdStrike update. This update is causing computers running Windows to crash and show the "Blue Screen of Death." Many firms worldwide are affected and cannot reboot their systems.
What to Know:
CrowdStrike’s cybersecurity software, used by many Fortune 500 companies including major global banks, healthcare, and energy companies, is designed to detect and block hacking threats. However, this software needs deep access to the operating system to scan for threats. Unfortunately, a recent update is causing conflicts with Windows, leading to these crashes.
This problem is impacting travel, banking, and other businesses globally.
What to do next:
If your organization is not using CrowdStrike, you should not be affected by this issue. However, this outage may impact any organizations you interact with that do use CrowdStrike. The Align team will reach out to you if this outage is affecting your specific environment. Align has developed a workaround if you have a local password and have access to a console.
