Let's start off with some information about you - tell me about yourself!

I am a rising third year at Georgia Tech studying Industrial Engineering with a concentration in Analytics and Data Science and a minor in Engineering and Business. I was born and raised in Miami, FL.

What are some of the highlights from projects you've worked on so far this summer? What have you learned?

One of my favorite projects involved updating and troubleshooting API permissions for clients in Microsoft Azure. When I arrived at Align, I had no knowledge in cloud computing. However, to complete the project an understanding of cloud computing was essential. With the help of co-workers, I filled in the gaps of my knowledge and learned all about Azure’s structure, the different services, tenants, and many other interesting topics which I applied in a real professional setting through my project. As a result, I not only developed a strong understanding of Azure, but a drive to learn as much as I possibly could.

How do you think your experience with Align will help you with your career?

At Align I am constantly looking at tickets and synthesizing their information to identify the root of their problem. As a result, I have significantly improved my attention to detail and analytical skills. On a more technical note, I have vastly broadened my knowledge in the IT field. Specifically, I’ve been exposed to various networking, cloud, and cybersecurity concepts. I believe this experience will make me a valuable asset to any company inside or outside of IT.

What has your favorite part been so far?

My favorite part so far has been getting to know the team. Everyone I’ve met has been super kind and friendly, and genuinely cares about developing friendships with everyone in the office. It makes me look forward to coming into the office every day.

What would be your advice to any future Align interns?

I would say to utilize the people around you and ask as many questions as possible. At Align there are so many experts in the field of IT who are able to communicate their knowledge exceptionally. Engaging in conversations and asking questions will help you learn faster than trying to take it all on yourself.
