The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has issued a warning regarding a mail scam targeting corporate executives. Letters, stamped "Time Sensitive Read Immediately," claim to be from the "BianLian Group," alleging network intrusion and data theft. 

What you Need to Know—The Scam: 

  • Letters are delivered via mail to corporate executives
  • Letters claim network intrusion and data theft by the "BianLian Group"
  • Letters demand ransom payment in Bitcoin via a QR code
  • Letters threaten data publication on leak sites if payment is not received with ten days
  • The letters have a return address from Boston Massachusetts
