Russell Reynolds, a senior-level executive search and assessment firm with nearly 300 professionals located in over 44 offices worldwide, needed a partner to design and manage the complex process of opening new offices around the world.
As the company’s footprint grew, they needed help to reduce the dependency on their IT team, by creating a consistent infrastructure across all of their offices. Additionally, the nature of its business is such that even a momentary lapse in business continuity due to unplanned IT outages would have costly and catastrophic effects. Russell Reynolds turned to Align to help them mitigate their business risks associated with downtime, and reduce the costs of 24/7 internal support. More specifically, they asked Align to improve its monitoring and reporting technologies, maintain optimal performance across technology platforms and perform routine maintenance.As the company’s footprint grew, they also required help to reduce their dependency on their IT team by creating a consistent infrastructure across all of their offices.
Align began by creating and instituting a scalable and transferable rollout plan to quickly support a number of initiatives. These initiatives included:
- Technology project management services
- Technology relocation services
- Cable and infrastructure design
- Data center reconfiguration and remediation
- Design and implementation of a new Cisco IP telephony system
- Network monitoring and support
Align established a consistent plan and rollout schedule to build out the new infrastructure with regional and building requirements in mind. With typical support for voice, audio, video, data and security needs, Align began working and liaising with the building management, architects, facilities managers, engineers, owner’s reps, general contractors and IT teams to ensure each phase was completed on time.
Once the IT infrastructure was in place and Russell Reynolds had moved into their new offices, the Align Network Operations Center was able to provide monitoring and operations support from a central location. Align continues to support their technology through Align Managed Services today.
The planning and design have helped the company reduce costs, improve user efficiency and eliminate additional expenses associated with maintaining diverse systems in offices distributed throughout the world. Since 2002, Align has been the primary provider of technology infrastructure and facility relocation and move services for Russell Reynolds Associates.
