Current State Workload Assessment

THE MOST IMPORTANT STAGE OF ANY MIGRATIONS STRATEGY

Because of mergers, personnel changes and lapses in change management, it’s impossible to have a firm grip on your assets and applications. Determining the current state is imperative to any technology change within a business environment. Conducting a Current State Assessment consists of capturing three vital components of information.

  • The business intelligence from the application owners, users and business units.
  • A logical discovery of those devices both physically and virtually.
  • A physical inventory of the hardware and devices.

Profiling applications and capturing their dependencies, as they exist today, is the best way to move to the future and take advantage of the technologies for tomorrow.

The benefits of this proven process and resulting technology baseline are plentiful, and include:

  • A single source of accurate data for future strategic opportunities
  • Update your CMDB
  • Know what is End of Life (EOL) or will be
  • Know what is End of Support (EOS) or will be
  • Cloud readiness
  • Consolidation of physical servers, resulting in power and cost savings
  • Preparation for a migration
  • Connecting mission-critical applications and dependencies
  • Increasing operational control
  • Understanding gaps in best-practice configurations
  • Strengthening your cybersecurity strategy by securing vulnerabilities
  • Identifying and remediating risk
