How a global information services firm seamlessly migrated with no downtime
Our client faced the challenge of migrating more than 400 applications and 1400 devices from 8 separate locations into their new facilities in the Southeast US. This would require all move planning and coordination in this time-sensitive endeavor, with a business mandate to keep business disruption at an absolute minimum.
Align took our phased approach, starting with Migration Design & Planning. We commenced an initial physical inventory of the devices scheduled to move and worked closely with the various stakeholders whose technology was being relocated – which included Network, Security, Client/Server, Storage, Midrange Database and Mainframe disciplines.
The second phase was the actual migration utilizing a Test Landing Zone strategy to minimize business risk. Align provided a single point of contact for all technical disciplines and application owners for the duration of the moves. Our migration efforts included:
