Project Associate
A Project Associate at Align Communications
is tasked with assisting in the
day-to-day operations of Technology
Relocation projects and clients.
The Associate will interface with
the client, the Align project managers,
the project team, technical engineers,
developers, and management.

Responsibilities
- Provide on-site consulting support
for Align technology relocation
clients as directed by the Project
Manager
- Interface with architect and
engineers to ensure proper documentation
on floor plans according to client
requirements.
- Plan and execute a subset of
a large technology relocation
project, including low voltage
cabling, Move, Add, Change (MAC),
Relocation and Circuit Management
- Assist in the training of others
as needed.
- Assist the Project Manager with
Data room design and infrastructure
drawings · Develop basic cable
layout designs, distribution frames
and patching facilities with approval
from the Project Manager.
- Assist with the creation and
development of an RFP and the
process of selecting vendors
- Assist with bid leveling – process
to include the comparison and
analysis of bid from multiple
vendors
- Oversee the circuit inventory,
ordering, tracking and delivery,
if part of project scope
- Coordinate and manage vendors
at job sites, including monitoring
their work, facilitating equipment
deliveries, identifying and escalating
issues ensuring proper documentation
is maintained, etc.
- Act as the onsite facilitator
during the construction and build-out
of the data center and/or cable
installation to ensure design
is implemented properly. Working
with project team, vendors and
client.
- Assist in the deployment of
all equipment in the data center.
- Coordinate all patching and
cross connects for both voice
and data.
- Other duties may include:
o Work closely with client on
Move, Add, Change requirements.
o Oversee and assists in the
completion of the technology
move.
o Oversee the project planning
and coordination of user workstations.
o Oversee and participate in
asset scanning/tagging and audits
of client technology assets.
o Interface with facilities
and IT groups on seating assignments
to develop to/from documentation
and floor plans
General
- Align professionals will be
expected to carry out such additional
or alternative duties for the
company which are reasonably consistent
with his/her position, as the
company may from time-to-time
require.
Skills
- College degree in Liberal Arts
and/or Computer Science
- Microsoft office suite: Word,
Excel, Project, PowerPoint
- Experience in any graphics based
CAD product (Visio) a plus.
- 3-5 years of project experience,
preferably in a customer/professional
service industry
- Solid understanding, including
voice, data and video, of all
aspects of a large technology
relocation project
- Good understanding of connectivity
for voice and data technologie
- Understanding network topologies
and system equipment
